Located on Crasmaritelor Street, no. 4, in Ploiești, this project focuses on the revitalization of a former P+4 (Ground floor + 4 levels) building originally designed as a dormitory for single workers. The structure, which had been abandoned and significantly deteriorated over time, is now undergoing a comprehensive transformation, consolidation, and modernization.
The new configuration introduces contemporary residential units, including studios and one-bedroom apartments thoughtfully designed to meet modern living standards. Each apartment features an open-space kitchen seamlessly connected to the living area, creating a fluid and functional interior. All windows have been enlarged to allow more natural light, enhancing both spatial quality and overall comfort.
The volumetric interventions and architectural approach have been intentionally minimal, yet impactful, respecting the existing structure while significantly improving its appearance and functionality.
Positioned within an evolving urban context, the project aims to foster a sense of community and contribute to the long-term regeneration of the area. Sustainability was also a key consideration throughout the design process. Photovoltaic panels have been installed across the entire roof, ensuring the building’s energy efficiency and reducing its environmental footprint.
Beyond the architectural transformation, this development is part of a broader vision to elevate the quality of life and the aesthetic value of the neighborhood, creating a more vibrant and resilient urban environment.
